PreSonus Announces Quantum 2 Thunderbolt Interface

After tracking the success of the Quantum audio / MIDI interface, PreSonus expanded the series with the new version of Quantum 2. Slightly smaller than the original Quantum, the 22×24 Quantum 2 channel shares the older sibling status as the audio interface / PreSonus® faster / better MIDI utilizing the benefits of the high-speed Thunderbolt ™ 2 buses and DAW’s non-isolated direct signal path for extremely low latency.

The state-of-the-art 24-bit and 192kHz converters in 120dB dynamic range and PreSonus XMAX interchangeable microphone preamplifiers deliver superior sound quality. For more I / O channels, simply use up to 4 Quantum 2 interfaces to connect an 80×80 monster with Thunderbolt.

Quantum 2 has two combined microphone/device inputs and two combined microphone/line inputs, each with a controlled XMAX digital preamplifier and + 48V phantom power. You can also get four ¼ TRS line outputs, and the headphone output is a dedicated volume control.

With ADAT Optical I / O and S / PDIF digital I / O, up to 18 additional digital inputs and outputs can be combined with 22 outputs and 24 outputs. The BNC word clock I / O ensures that Quantum 2 and other digital audio devices work in short-range synchronization. Of course, you get MIDI I / O.

With Quantum 2, the audio interface is an integrated extension of the recording environment. Start the DAW Artist PreSonus Studio One® and find the full features of the preamplifier in the shooting environment.

Most Quantum 2 functions can also be controlled in the PreSonus UC monitoring software, so if you use third-party recording software, you can access it remotely from the services. To overcome, the owners of Quantum 2 get the Studio Magic plug-in package for free.

With the Pro features, flexible and abundant I / O software, Quantum 2 connects to the original Quantum with the strongest combination audio interfaces / PreSonus studio command centers and adapts to any recording and production environment.

The Quantum 2 interface will reach by the end of October 2017 at $ 699.95 US street price.
